Privacy Policy
We try to collect as little as possible — and tell you plainly what we do collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What this site collects
The Truth about Dogs Repository is a read-only archive of public evidence. Most visitors can use the site without providing any personal information.
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to understand which resources are useful: pageviews, referring source, approximate country, device type (desktop / mobile), and session duration. This data is not tied to your identity and is not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies & local storage
We use a small amount of browser storage to make the site work:
- Cookie consent — remembers your choice on the consent banner so we don't ask again.
- Interface preferences — for example, your chosen layout mode and whether you've dismissed the timeline tip.
- Analytics — only loaded if you accept analytics cookies.
You can clear this storage at any time from your browser settings.
Third-party services
A handful of third parties help us deliver the site:
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used across the archive.
- Hosting & analytics provider — processes basic request logs and, with your consent, aggregated visit statistics.
- External links — every resource card links out to its primary source (journals, organizations, publishers). Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (EU/EEA, UK, California, and similar jurisdictions), you have the right to:
- Ask what information, if any, we hold that relates to you.
- Request correction or deletion of that information.
- Object to processing, or withdraw consent for analytics at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Because we don't ask for accounts, names, or emails to browse the archive, in most cases there is no personal record tied to you to begin with.
No data selling
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We don't run advertising on this site, and we don't share visit data with ad networks or data brokers.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we change analytics providers or add a new feature that affects data collection. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
